Clearview Public Schools Addresses Bus Accident Involving Students and Staff

[Clearview, March 13, 2024] – Clearview Public Schools is saddened to report an unfortunate accident involving one of our school buses and a semi-truck. The incident occurred shortly after 8am at the intersection of Highways 12 and Highway 855 south.

The bus was carrying students from Gus Wetter and Theresetta schools in Castor, AB.  Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, and all individuals involved were assessed by professional EMS personnel. As a precautionary measure, the students were transported to the hospital for further evaluation. We are grateful for the swift response of the emergency services and the care provided to those affected.

Families of the students and staff onboard have been contacted and updated on the situation. Clearview Public Schools is committed to maintaining open communication and providing support to those impacted by this incident.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are currently investigating the accident. Additionally, Clearview Public Schools is conducting its own internal review and will be reviewing all relevant safety guidelines and procedures to ensure the continued safety of our students and staff.
